How a rendering project runs at IMBA Atelier — from first message to final delivery. Every project follows the same five-step pipeline: brief, modeling, lighting and materials, review rounds, and delivery. It is a proven process, transparent at every stage, and it starts with a quote within one working day.
How does a 3D rendering project work?
In five steps: you send the brief, we model, we light and texture, you review, we deliver. Nothing hidden, no surprises — you always know where your project stands. Here is what each step means in practice.
Step 1: Brief
You send us your drawings, model, and references — CAD files, PDFs, or even sketches; the full checklist is in our tutorial: what files do I need to provide. We confirm the scope, agree the angles and mood, and send a fixed quote within one working day. No work starts until you approve it.
Step 2: Modeling
We build the 3D model directly from your drawings — accurate to the millimeter, at real-world scale, with clean topology. If you sent a Revit or SketchUp model, we work from it directly. The modeling craft is covered on our Techniques page, and the tools on our Software page.
Step 3: Lighting and materials
The scene comes to life. We set physically accurate daylight or artificial lighting (see how we light), and match every finish to your real materials (see how we build materials). This is where the image starts to feel like the finished space.
Step 4: Review rounds
You receive preview images and give feedback. Review rounds are included in every project — we iterate until the image is right. For automotive projects we can review a body-in-white pass first — the bare-metal form — so you approve the design before we commit to paint and final materials. Structured feedback gets you there faster; our tutorial on how to give feedback on a render explains how. This step is why the final image always matches what you imagined.
Step 5: Delivery
You receive the final high-resolution images, formatted for the use you need — web, print, or presentation. For larger projects we also deliver animations, 360° tours, and complete marketing packages. The deliverables are yours; we keep the project files for easy revisions later.
How long does a rendering project take?
Most still images are delivered within 1–5 working days from brief approval. Animations and larger packages take longer — we agree the exact schedule in the quote. Pricing is always quoted up front; see the FAQs for typical ranges and timeline details.
What do I receive from a rendering studio?
Depending on the package: high-resolution stills (JPG, PNG, or TIFF), 360° virtual tours, animations and walkthroughs, and marketing-ready asset sets. Every deliverable is checked against the brief before handover. New to any of these terms? Our glossary explains them in plain English.
How do we communicate during a project?
One point of contact, plain language, and regular previews. We answer within one working day, we flag anything that needs a decision early, and we never disappear mid-project. It is the same standard we expect from the studios we would hire — and it is built into the workflow, not bolted on.

Send us your files and brief — we will come back with a fixed quote within one working day. Want proof first? Browse the portfolio to see what the workflow produces.
The workflow is the spine of everything we do — the techniques, software, materials, lighting, and camera pages each cover one step in depth.
